COOKIE POLICY
Effective Date: March 16, 2019.
Why We Provide This Policy
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, our use of cookies at Neocortix, Inc. and its affiliates (collectively “Neocortix”), and how you can manage cookies.
Who We Are
In this Cookie Policy:
- “we”, “us” and “our” mean Neocortix
- “third-party” means someone who is not you or us
What Cookies Are
Cookies are small data files that are issued to your device when you visit a website and that store information about your use of a mobile application, website, and other online product and service (collectively “Services”).
Why We Use Cookies
Neocortix uses cookies to make it easier for you to log in and to help recognize you as a repeat visitor.
How Cookies Work
When you visit our web pages, our web server sends a cookie to your device, which allows us to recognize your device (but not the specific person using it). By associating the identification numbers in the cookies with other account information when you log in to our Services, for example, we know that the cookie information relates to your user account.
Cookie Classifications
Cookies can be broken down into classifications according to their lifecycles and their domains.
Cookies by Lifespan
- Session cookies are those that are erased when users close their browsers.
- Persistent cookies are those that remain on the user’s computer for a predesignated period of time.
We sometimes use persistent cookies as well as session cookies.
Cookies by Domain
- First-party cookies are those that come from the web server of the page visited by the user.
- Third-party cookies are those that are stored by a different domain than that of the page visited by the user.
Managing Cookies
Most browsers allow you to enable or disable cookies. If you wish to restrict or block the cookies which are set by any website, you should do this through the web browser settings for each web browser, on each device you use, to access the internet. The methods for doing so vary from browser to browser and from version to version. You can obtain information about restricting or blocking cookies, including on a wide variety of browsers, at allaboutcookies.org.
For example, you can manage the use of our Authentication Cookie simply by not clicking the “Remember Me” box in the login panel and on the signup page. Blocking all cookies will have a negative impact upon the usability of many websites. If you block our Authentication Cookie, you will not be able to use all the features on our website.
Cookies That We Use
| Type | Name | Purpose |
| Authentication | customer_id | To identify you when you visit our website and as you navigate our website. Only used when you click the "Remember Me" box. |
| Status | cloud.neocortix.session | To help us determine if you are logged into our website and to identify you so we can show you information for your account. Used when you log in to your account, and deleted when you log out. |
| Security | remember_token | As an element of the security measures used to protect user accounts, including preventing fraudulent use of login credentials, and to protect our website and services generally. Only used when you click the "Remember Me" box. |
Our Do Not Track Policy
Some browsers have “do not track” features that allow you to tell a website not to track you. The Neocortix website does not track you.
